ABSTRACT AND PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

Acknowledgement of Country

Each session will have an opening Acknowledgment of Country given by the Session Chair, each presenter is not required to begin their individual presentation in that session with an additional Acknowledgment of Country, however presenters are welcome to do so if they wish.


Appropriate and Safe Language

It is a requirement that all presentations and workshops value diversity, promote reflection, and use appropriate and safe terminology and language.


Photography

Presentations will not be filmed; however, presenters are to be aware that the event photographer may take photos of the presenters and stage during their presentation.


Assigned Presenters

Abstracts must be presented by the specified presenting author(s) except in an emergency, such as illness, where an alternative speaker can be nominated. The first author (as given on the abstract submission form) will be the main contact for any correspondence.


Keeping to Your Allocated Presentation Time

Presenters must agree to adhere to their assigned timeframe and agree that they will not exceed their allotted time under no circumstance. The strict time keeping is in place to ensure fairness to other presenters, to the chairpersons, and to the audience. No extra time will be given to a presenter, and presenters will be instructed to wrap up at the end of their allotted time.


Presenter Registration

All presenters must be registered for at least one day of the conference by the deadline of Friday, 19 June 2026.


Oral Presentation Requirements

Oral presentations are allocated 20 minutes in the program - 15 minutes to present with 5 minutes Q&A at the end. It is important to ensure presentations do not exceed the allocated time slot.

Presenters must provide their PowerPoint Deck to the Speakers Prep Room in 16:9 aspect ratio at least 3 hours before their presentation time.


The Quick and The Deadly Requirements

The Quick and the Deadly Presentations will consist of 20 slides for 20 seconds each, (total 6 minutes 40 seconds). Presenters must adhere to the timeslot and take direction from the chairperson.

A judging panel will score presentations based on delivery, engagement, structure, content and originality. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the session to the highest scoring presenters.

Presenters must provide their PowerPoint Deck to the Speakers Prep Room in 16:9 aspect ratio at least 3 hours before their presentation time.


Poster Requirements

Posters will be displayed digitally as part of the exhibition so printing will not be required. Posters must be created in 16:9 aspect ratio, landscape only. Final poster artwork should be supplied via email to AIDA@spinifexevents.com.au by Friday 21 August 2026.

Poster presenters must be present at their poster during the allocated Poster Session to discuss their work and answer questions. See the program for scheduling information.
