WORKSHOP AND EXPERIENCE ABSTRACTS
Read about the workshop and experience submission types, and submit your abstract by 15 May.

All submissions must adhere to the AIDA 2026 Conference Abstract Submission Guidelines as outlined on the respective webpage, and must follow the Appropriate Language and Terminology Guide in order to be considered.
This page goes into detail on the additional and specific guidelines and requirements relating to the following presentation types:
We want to hear from our members, peak-bodies and organisations who are leading in their work, and anyone who is working to improve the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and health workforce - to challenge the future. We encourage workshops to be aimed at different career levels: medical students, junior doctors, registrars or medical specialists, and must indicate a target audience on submission.
Workshops can be submitted as:
There are a limited number of spaces available in the program for a variety of presentation types. Sessions will run concurrently across 3-4 streams.
Abstracts can be submitted for Workshop sessions in either a 1-hour or 2-hour format.
Post-Conference Workshops may be negotiated and are still required to submit an abstract. Those submitting a Post-Conference Workshop abstract can elect a full or half day format. AIDA does NOT cover the venue, audio visual or catering costs associated with Post-Conference
Workshops.
If you have any questions regarding your abstract or the Guidelines, please contact the AIDA Event Team via email at conference@aida.org.au.

Experience Abstracts
Experience submissions are open to all current members and will be considered for inclusion on any day of the 3-day program. Experiences can take many forms - from a facilitated yarn or storytelling session to a wellbeing activity, creative demonstration, or something entirely your own. If you have an idea you’d love to share, we welcome your submission.
While workshop abstracts require a structured format, Experience submissions are intentionally more flexible. You don’t need to provide learning objectives or a detailed methodology. Instead, use your 500‑word limit to simply describe:
These submissions can be informal, creative, reflective, or interactive - whatever best suits your idea.
We’re looking for a clear sense of the experience you want to offer, not a formal workshop plan.
